X-Press It Gold Size 5Lt

Gold Size by the 5 Litre Jug for Studios and Restorers

X-Press It Gold Size 5 Litres is a bulk jug of water based gilding adhesive for studios, sign writers, restorers and workshops that leaf every week.

Its label sets out the full method: apply a thin even coat with a soft brush, allow approximately 10 minutes for curing, and once it changes from white to clear, lay metal leaf over every sized area. The surfaces listed are paper, cardboard, canvas, timber, glass and ceramics. X-Press It also recommends varnishing imitation leaf so it does not tarnish.

Decanting from one jug keeps a consistent size across many projects and saves reordering small bottles. The printed open time of 10 to 12 hours gives a long working window for large panels, where a whole surface can be sized and then leafed in stages.

Decant it into smaller bottles for each bench, apply it with soft craft brushes, and stock up on matching craft adhesives and painting accessories so leafing classes and restoration jobs are never held up for supplies.
