The Shiny Printer S-401, sold under Staedtler code 9S401, is a self-inking PAID stamp that prints the heading, an adjustable date and a BY: line in one press.

It suits anyone who settles or receipts accounts. Stamp a supplier invoice once it has been paid, mark a customer remittance, or date the stub in a receipt book so the payment record sits on the paper itself. The BY: line gives whoever processed the payment a place to initial, which helps when a query comes back weeks later.

In Staedtler’s catalogue sample the word PAID is drawn in tall outline capitals with bracket ends, and the date sits between them. Shiny make the stamp and Staedtler distribute it in Australia; the catalogue lists it as two colour, with blue lettering and a red date that is 4mm high and set by turning the day, month and year bands.
