Staedtler Lumocolor Refill Pot Red Permanent 487 17-2

Red Ink For Lumocolor Permanent Universal Pens

Staedtler 487 17-2 is a 15 ml red refill station. Staedtler list it for their permanent Lumocolor universal pens, models 313, 314, 317 and 318.

This is permanent ink. Staedtler, the pot label and the Staedtler Australia catalogue all place the 487 17 with the permanent universal pens, so it is not a match for the water-soluble non-permanent Lumocolor models.

To recharge a red 313, 314, 317 or 318 pen, take off the cap and stand it tip first in the pot. it starts writing again inside a few minutes, with Staedtler putting a complete refill at 3 to 4 hours, and the pen cannot be overfilled because it only takes the ink it can hold. Staedtler allow up to 10 refills per pen, tip permitting.

Red universal pens see hard use on overhead film, CDs, plastic labels and proofing, so a 15 ml pot on the shelf saves buying fresh boxes. Made in Germany, as Staedtler state.
