Staedtler Lumocolor Permanent Broad Black Box 10 314-9

Broad Black Universal Pens By The Ten

This is a box of 10 Staedtler Lumocolor permanent 314-9 pens in black, the broad B line of Staedtler’s universal pen range.

The 314 is slimmer than a marker but writes boldly. Staedtler give the B line as approx. 1.0 to 2.5 mm from its wedge-shaped nib, enough for clear labels on folders, tubes, cable and plastic boxes, while still fitting a shirt pocket or pen loop. Staedtler call it a universal pen for almost all surfaces, and it is also suitable for overhead projection film.

The permanent, low-odour ink is proof against smudging and water on almost every surface, and it is dry so quickly that left-handers can write without smearing. Black is the colour Staedtler describe as lightfast, and their catalogue adds that black is weatherproof and the ink is xylene and toluene free.

DRY SAFE ink means a pen left open on the desk for days still writes. The tip is locked, the polypropylene barrel and cap are meant to last, and the pen can be refilled from the 487 17 refill pot, up to 10 times depending on the tip. Staedtler state the 314 is made in Germany.
