The Linex R1000 rolling ruler is a 300mm drawing tool that Linex describes as universal, made for parallel lines, hatching and circles, and fitted with a 180 degree protractor.

Linex lists the material as transparent polystyrene, and Hamelin Brands describes transparent plastic running on green rollers. Hamelin adds squares, quadrants, crosshatching, angles, arcs and vertical and horizontal lines to the work it lists. The ruler in our photo is printed RR 1000 and carries a printed formula table beside the protractor.

Linex lists parallel lines and hatching among its uses, and rolling the ruler across the page is how it steps from one line to the next, which suits a desk, a lecture theatre or anywhere a full drafting setup will not fit. The protractor on the same body means angles can be checked without picking up a second tool.
