Lindy 100m Cat6 3.5mm Stereo Audio Extender

Analogue Audio Over a Single Network Cable

The Lindy Cat6 3.5mm Analogue Audio Extender, part 70450, sends 2 channel stereo audio over one Cat5e or Cat6 network cable to a distant amplifier or powered speaker.

Lindy lists extension of 3.5mm analogue audio up to 500m over standard network cable, with no external power required. Each pigtail style unit has the 3.5mm plug built in, so no extra audio leads are needed, and either unit can act as the transmitter or receiver. The 3.5mm plugs suit laptops, media players and powered speakers with stereo jack sockets.

Because the units are passive and compact, they can sit discreetly behind a source device or speaker without a power point. Lindy notes that maximum lengths are a guide and depend on the application and the twisted pair cable used, with a single network cable between the units. Lindy backs it with a 2 year warranty.

The network cable is sold separately, so add one from network cables. Other long run solutions are in cable extenders, and shorter audio leads are in audio and video cables.
