Lafayette Epson ERC-38 Compatible Ink Ribbon Black and Red

Two Colour Impact Ribbon in an Epson Compatible Box

Lafayette list ERC38BR as an Epson Black Red Ink Ribbon, and the box reads Epson Compatible Ink Ribbon, ERC 30/34/38 Black/Red, marking it as a Lafayette replacement rather than an Epson original.

Lafayette’s register roll page explains that impact printers running bond or carbonless rolls need an ink ribbon, and this cartridge is one of the ribbons Lafayette list for them. The box names the cartridge types as ERC 30/34/38 and the colours as black and red, and its printed compatible printer line is quoted word for word in the specifications.

Matching the ERC number on the spent cartridge, or the printer model against the line on the box, is the check to make before ordering, since Epson’s name appears only to identify the cartridge type. The box prints Black and Red Ink, so a printer set up for red output can pick out chosen lines in red.

The box prints Made in China and Keep out of heat, so keep spares away from ovens and heaters. Paper for impact printers is in cash register rolls, other cartridges are in printer ribbons, and the wider printing supplies range covers the office.
