Six earth-tone Ciao markers for skin and natural textures

The Copic Ciao Portrait set offers six pale, middle and dark earth tones for building skin, plus browns for landscapes and textures.

Copic Australia list the colours as E000, E00, E11, E15, E18 and E93, shown on the swatch card as Pale Fruit Pink, Cotton Pearl, Barley Beige, Dark Suntan, Copper and Tea Rose. They suggest it for blending colours to create skin, and for brown tones in landscapes or earthy textures. It is also the set Copic Australia recommend pairing with the Ciao 12 colour set.

With the Super Brush and Medium Broad ends that Copic describe on each marker, cheeks and shadows can be worked with the brush while larger areas use the broad end. Copic list the ink as alcohol and dye-based and note that Ciao markers can be refilled and re-nibbed.

A go-to set for portrait, character and figure artists. Pair it with fineliner pens for clean outlines, look through other art markers, and keep a few artist pencils handy for light under-drawing.
