Columbia Copperplate Lead Pencils Hexagonal 3B Box 20

Copperplate 3B Pencils for Smooth, Dark Tonal Sketching

Columbia Copperplate 617003B is a box of 20 hexagonal 3B lead pencils, and ACCO Brands gives the 3B grade the words smooth, dark lines. It is a practical box for art rooms and illustrators who keep several Copperplate grades on hand.

As part of the series ACCO Brands calls the Columbia flagship, the 3B pencil uses the same red body and dark brown capped end as its siblings. The six-sided barrel is listed by ACCO as hexagonal. On the ACCO product images the barrel print shows 3B alongside columbia and copperplate, which keeps sorting simple after a busy lesson.

On sharpening, ACCO Brands states that Copperplate lead sharpens easily without crumbling. The 617003B carton adds printed reassurance in the form of “easy to sharpen” and “leads don’t crumble”. In ACCO’s words the lead is premium and high quality, with smooth writing performance.

Further grades are in our lead pencil collection, and the drawing supplies page covers sketch pads and other art basics. A pencil sharpener from our range restores the 3B point between studies.
