Staedtler Lumocolor Permanent Extra Broad Chisel Black Box 5 388-9

Extra Broad Black Marker For Big, Bold Lettering

Staedtler 388-9 is the Lumocolor permanent marker extra broad in black, with a wide chisel tip, sold as a box of 5.

This is the big one in the Lumocolor permanent family. Staedtler give the chisel tip as approx. 2 or 12 mm: the edge for a normal line, the full face for lettering that can be read from the other side of a warehouse. Pallet wrap, bulk bags, crates, timber, signs on corflute and large cartons are all natural jobs.

Staedtler’s catalogue lists ink that will not smudge or wash away on almost any surface, sets in seconds, gives a deep colour with low odour and is made without xylene or toluene. Black is lightfast for over 10 years on paper as well as weatherproof. DRY SAFE ink can stay uncapped for days, the tip is locked against heavy pressure, and the pen is airplane safe.

For everyday carton marking, the 350 chisel at 2 to 5 mm may be enough; choose the 388 when the mark has to be seen at a distance.
